Web Operations Specialist (Contract)

WideOrbit is seeking a Web Operations Specialist to manage the day-to-day technical operations of our marketing website. This role will be responsible for website maintenance, troubleshooting, analytics support, compliance-related updates, and ongoing optimization.

In addition to technical ownership, the ideal candidate will have experience building and updating WordPress pages, applying established design standards, and making light visual enhancements that maintain brand consistency and improve the user experience.

Scope of Work / Deliverables:

• Serve as the primary technical resource for the WideOrbit website, ensuring ongoing reliability, security, and performance.
• Support the launch, testing, stabilization, and ongoing maintenance of the redesigned website.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to WordPress, themes, plugins, integrations, site performance, and responsive functionality.
• Manage website updates, deployments, backups, testing, and environment configuration across staging and production environments.
• Maintain and support website analytics and tracking solutions, including GA4, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, and cookie consent tools.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to tracking, forms, spam prevention, redirects, accessibility, and user experience.
• Partner with Marketing and Legal stakeholders to implement and maintain privacy, cookie consent, and compliance-related requirements.
• Build, update, and maintain website pages using approved templates and the established design system.
• Perform light visual and layout enhancements while preserving brand standards and design consistency.
• Optimize website assets, imagery, and page performance across devices and screen sizes.
• Maintain documentation of website configurations, processes, technical updates, and recurring issues.
• Proactively monitor website health and identify potential issues before they impact users, reporting, or business operations.
• Provide recommendations for platform improvements, plugin updates, technical enhancements, and website best practices.

Contractor Qualifications:

• Proven experience managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting WordPress websites in a business environment.
• Experience supporting managed hosting platforms, preferably Kinsta.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive web design principles.
• Experience implementing and supporting GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Google Search Console.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting cookie consent and privacy management solutions.
• Strong understanding of website performance, SEO best practices, redirects, forms, spam prevention, and accessibility.
• Experience managing website updates, testing, deployments, and staging/production environments.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose technical issues, identify root causes, and drive resolutions independently.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts and recommendations effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

Design & Web Production Experience

• Strong understanding of web design fundamentals, including layout, typography, visual hierarchy, and responsive behavior.
• Experience working from Figma files, component libraries, and established design systems.
• Ability to build and maintain polished WordPress pages that align with approved designs and brand standards.
• Comfortable making thoughtful design and content presentation updates while preserving the established visual direction.
• Experience preparing, optimizing, and managing website imagery and digital assets for performance and usability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting B2B technology, software, or SaaS company websites.
• Familiarity with Marketo or other marketing automation platforms and website integrations.
• Experience partnering with marketing, legal, privacy, and compliance stakeholders.
• Understanding of WCAG accessibility standards and accessibility best practices.
• Experience supporting website redesigns, migrations, or large-scale website enhancement projects.

This engagement is for an independent contractor providing specialized website administration, support, and web production services. The contractor will be responsible for managing deliverables and outcomes within the agreed scope of work.
