Web Research VA

Job Summary:
We're opening a spot for a detail-oriented Data Entry and Data Collection VA to grow the event listings on our events discovery platform for the craft beer industry. You'll comb through brewery websites and social media pages, collect accurate event details, and enter them into our custom admin system. We'd love someone meticulous, at ease navigating websites and basic browser tools, and steady when working through repetitive tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Go through assigned brewery event pages, tour pages, and Instagram and Facebook accounts to spot new events, tours, and promotions
• Cross-reference social media with official event pages to find listings missing from the website
• Input full event details into our custom admin form, including title, description, date, time, location, and links
• Tag each listing with the correct event type (food, social, tours, specials, and others)
• Configure recurring and multi-date events accurately with the right start and end times
• Retrieve event images from Instagram with the browser inspect tool and attach them to the correct listing
• Confirm and record off-site event locations using Google Maps address lookup
• Include ticketing links (Eventbrite, Universe, and similar platforms) where relevant
• Hold a regular review schedule so new events are picked up as soon as venues post them
• Point out duplicates, missing information, or inconsistencies and propose workflow improvements

Mandatory Skills:

• Solid experience in data entry and online data collection with a proven accuracy record
• Comfortable moving through websites, web forms, and admin dashboards
• Basic technical ability to use browser inspect/developer tools to locate and save images
• Background gathering information from Instagram and Facebook
• Knowledge of Google Maps for checking and confirming addresses
• Working knowledge of Slack and email for day-to-day communication
• Able to set up and use two-factor authentication
• Thorough, trustworthy, and able to run independently
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• Background with event listings, online directories, or calendar management
• Experience in web research or lead/data collection projects
• Basic image handling skills (downloading, renaming, uploading)
• Ability to work across several sources and projects at once
• Proactive attitude and eagerness to suggest better ways of working
• Interest in the craft beer, hospitality, or events space
