Webmethod Admin

Job Summary

We are looking for a strong webMethods Administrator with hands-on experience in managing, supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting webMethods environments, particularly in production environments. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in webMethods administration, server configuration, upgrades, patching, shutdown/startup activities, production fixes, Update Manager, and environment maintenance.

This role requires someone who is strong on the administration/infrastructure side of webMethods, rather than primarily a webMethods developer.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of webMethods environments.
• Manage webMethods Integration Server and related components across development, QA, UAT, and production environments.
• Perform webMethods version upgrades, migrations, patches, and hotfixes.
• Strong hands-on experience with webMethods Update Manager for applying patches, fixes, and product updates.
• Perform server shutdown and startup activities during planned maintenance and production deployments.
• Manage and troubleshoot production issues, including identifying root causes and implementing permanent fixes.
• Perform server configuration, environment configuration, and application-level configuration as required.
• Monitor webMethods services and infrastructure and ensure high availability and stability of production environments.
• Troubleshoot Integration Server, package, service, connectivity, and runtime-related issues.
• Perform planned maintenance activities, including patching, upgrades, server restarts, and configuration changes.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, database, application, network, and middleware teams for production issue resolution.
• Support deployment and release activities across webMethods environments.
• Maintain system health, logs, configurations, operational documentation, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Participate in production incident management, RCA, and preventive action implementation.
• Support disaster recovery, backup/restore, and environment recovery activities where required.
• Ensure changes are implemented according to change management and production support processes.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in webMethods Administration.
• Strong experience with webMethods Integration Server administration.
• Hands-on experience with webMethods Update Manager.
• Strong experience in webMethods upgrades and patching.
• Experience with server shutdown/startup and maintenance activities.
• Strong experience in production support and production fixes.
• Experience in webMethods server/environment configuration.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident resolution skills.
• Experience supporting enterprise production environments.
• Good understanding of middleware infrastructure and application/server dependencies.

Good to Have

• Experience with webMethods Broker, Trading Networks, Universal Messaging, API Gateway, Designer and Deployer.
• Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows server environments.
• Knowledge of application servers, databases, networking, SSL certificates and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Experience with high availability, clustering and disaster recovery.
• Exposure to monitoring and ITSM tools such as ServiceNow/Jira.
• Experience working in 24x7 production support environments.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be an administration-focused webMethods professional who has independently handled production environments, upgrades, patching, Update Manager, server configuration, shutdown/startup, troubleshooting and production fixes. Candidates who are primarily webMethods developers with limited administration experience will not be preferred.
