Webmethods Technical Lead

We are looking for an experienced webMethods Technical Lead to provide hands-on expertise across webMethods Integration Server, Universal Messaging and API Gateway, alongside strong technical leadership. You will help a product-aligned squad deliver measurable business outcomes, maintain reliable day-to-day services and progressively modernise the technology estate.

Working collaboratively across product, engineering, architecture, testing, service management and business teams, you will take visible ownership of build, run and continuous improvement outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Own outcomes across build, run and continuous improvement within a product-aligned squad.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, architecture, testing, service management and business stakeholders.
• Build quality, security, resilience, observability and supportability into all deliverables.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, planning, estimation, reviews, retrospectives and operational governance.
• Lead and execute work across webMethods Integration Server, Universal Messaging and API Gateway.
• Provide technical leadership, direction and hands-on support to the squad.
• Respond promptly to incidents, risks and dependencies, communicating status, impact, decisions and actions clearly.
• Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, operating procedures and knowledge articles.
• Use data and service insights to remove recurring failures, reduce manual effort and improve customer outcomes.

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience with webMethods Integration Server.
• Practical expertise in Universal Messaging and API Gateway.
• Confident technical leadership with visible ownership and accountability.
• GCP and cloud-native awareness appropriate to the role.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, observability and secure engineering practices.
• Strong incident, problem management and root cause analysis disciplines.
• Experience working in Agile environments and with source-controlled delivery practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A calm, responsive approach in business-critical situations.
• An outcome-oriented and curious mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning.

Experience and Qualifications

• Typically 10+ years of relevant technology experience, including leadership of complex delivery or operational services.
• Demonstrable experience working with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
• Relevant cloud, platform, product, service management or technology certifications are desirable.
