Duties

• Thoroughly wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using proper dishwashing techniques and sanitizing procedures
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations and ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and organized
• Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and prep work under supervision
• Support the bussing of tables by clearing used dishes and ensuring dining areas remain tidy throughout service
• Follow food safety standards and sanitation protocols to prevent contamination and uphold health regulations
• Operate commercial dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, trays, and supplies while adhering to proper ergonomic practices for safety

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food service or restaurant environment is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
• Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in a commercial kitchen setting
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and basic utensils
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and adherence to health and safety standards
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knife skills or food handling experience is a plus but not mandatory
