Weekend In-Store Sampling & Sales Representative

About the role

Aarog Foods is a Surrey-based food company making gluten-free lentil chilla mixes and everyday flour blends. We’re looking for a friendly, reliable person to introduce our products to shoppers through live cooking demonstrations and sampling at grocery stores.

This is a hands-on role combining simple cooking, customer conversations and sales. You should enjoy approaching people, preparing food and encouraging shoppers to try and purchase our products.

Responsibilities

• Set up and pack down the sampling table, cooking equipment and product display.
• Prepare small samples using an electric griddle and follow provided recipes.
• Proactively greet shoppers and offer samples.
• Explain product ingredients, preparation methods and uses.
• Encourage purchases and direct shoppers to products on the store shelves.
• Follow food-handling, hygiene and allergen procedures.
• Keep the sampling area clean, organized and presentable.
• Coordinate with store staff and represent Aarog Foods professionally.
• Report customer feedback, sample counts, sales activity and stock needs after each shift.
• Transport sampling supplies and equipment between our Surrey facility and store locations, as required.

What we’re looking for

• Friendly, confident communication and a willingness to approach shoppers.
• Comfortable with basic cooking and following recipes.
• Reliable attendance and availability on weekends.
• A positive attitude and interest in food and sales.
• Able to stand during demonstrations and carry sampling supplies.
• Reliable transportation to assigned grocery stores.

Retail sales, food demonstrations, customer service or cooking experience is an asset. FOODSAFE certification is preferred. Product and demonstration training will be provided.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
