Weekend Shift Production Supervisor

The weekend Shift Production Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for the supervision of the plant and employees while also providing hands-on participation with production. The ideal candidate is a “player-coach” who can balance managing and maintaining a production line, while effectively leading a small team. The role is accountable for the overall effectiveness of production equipment including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on the plant floor and for the safety and productivity of the plant employees. Other duties include assisting with material handling, operating the production line, and plant housekeeping. This is a full-time, hourly position.Job FunctionsManages shift schedule and coordinates work for 4-5 production operators and 1 mechanic to accomplish weekend shift production and shipment goalsResponsible for maintaining consistently high-quality product outputProvide coaching, feedback, and guidance to employeesProvide daily, weekly, monthly reports to leadership regarding safety and productivity metricsInspects equipment and provides preventative maintenance as needed for operationEnsures all paperwork is completed correctly and accurately and that all regulations and rules are followedFills in other warehouse functions as needed and assists with daily start-up and shut down of production, including daily production line maintenanceUses Forklift to move raw materials and finished goods around the plant and on/off semi-trailers and repositions trailers in yard for loading and unloadingKeeps warehouse neat and organized; assists with trailer cleaning as neededResponsible for maintaining testing programs to ensure compliance with industry regulations/standardsContribute to continuous improvement goals regarding safety, productivity, and qualityMaintain environmental and OSHA compliance

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

-- Previous experience as a Shift Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor, Shift Lead, or similar role

-- Ability to handle multiple priorities and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a timely manner

-- Positive and professional and able to work safely and efficiently

-- Good people leadership and conflict management skills

--Ability to use hand and power tools

--Communicate effectively with all members of the company to ensure proper exchange of information

--Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English

--Must be able to perform math functions (addition, division, multiplication, subtraction) accurately

--Must maintain a high level of accuracy

--Must be able to drive a forklift safely

--Must understand and ensure compliance with all safety, OSHA, FSMA and company policies

Qualifications/Experience/Education

--2 years of maintenance or front-line supervisory experience preferred

--Experience with production lines; PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, process controls

--Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts

--2-3 year’s forklift and skid steer experience preferred

--High School degree or equivalent

--Comfort with basic math

--Comfort with Microsoft tools; Outlook/email, Excel, Word, Teams

-- Competent repositioning trailers at facility or willing to learn

Pay: From $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 – 42.0 per week
