Weekend Warehouse Manager
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our warehouse specifically during our weekend shifts.
This is an important management position within the business. You will be responsible for leading the weekend warehouse team, ensuring orders are processed accurately and efficiently, maintaining high standards throughout the warehouse, and making sure productivity and service levels are achieved.
We are looking for someone who is organised, confident managing people and prepared to be actively involved in the warehouse operation rather than simply managing from an office.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the warehouse operation during weekend shifts
- Lead, organise and motivate warehouse staff
- Allocate daily workloads and ensure staffing is used effectively
- Oversee picking, packing and dispatch of customer orders
- Ensure orders are completed accurately and within required deadlines
- Monitor productivity and warehouse performance
- Manage goods-in, stock movements and replenishment where required
- Maintain accurate stock control procedures
- Ensure the warehouse remains clean, organised and safe
- Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times
- Deal with operational problems quickly and effectively
- Carry out staff briefings and provide clear instructions to the team
- Monitor staff attendance, performance and conduct
- Train and support new and existing warehouse employees
- Work closely with weekday management to ensure a smooth handover between shifts
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, productivity and working practices
- Take responsibility for the warehouse and team during your shift
About You
The successful candidate should have:
- Previous experience supervising or managing a busy warehouse operation
- Strong people-management and leadership skills
- Experience managing picking, packing, dispatch and stock control
- Good organisational and planning skills
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- A practical, hands-on approach to management
- Good attention to detail
- Confidence making decisions and dealing with problems independently
- Good communication skills
- A strong understanding of warehouse Health & Safety
- Good basic computer skills
Experience within e-commerce, online retail, fulfilment or a high-volume picking and packing environment would be particularly advantageous.
Working Pattern
This position is specifically to manage our weekend warehouse operation.
Normal working days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday & Tuesday
Hours: 40
During the initial training and induction period, there will be a requirement to work some weekday shifts alongside our existing management and warehouse team. This is to ensure you are fully trained in our systems, procedures, stock processes and day-to-day warehouse operation before taking full responsibility for the weekend shift.
Applicants must therefore have some flexibility to work weekdays during the training period.
Once training has been completed, the role will primarily operate on the agreed weekend working pattern, although occasional additional weekday hours may be required during particularly busy periods, holidays or other operational needs.
What We Offer
- Permanent position
- Stable weekend working pattern following training
- Responsibility for managing your own shift and team
- Established and growing business
- Support from the wider management team
- Opportunity to make improvements and have a genuine impact on warehouse performance
Pay: From £34,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Employee discount
- Free parking
- On-site parking
Experience:
- Warehouse management: 2 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
