Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-4pm

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and organised Weighbridge Operator to join our team at our busy recycling facility.

The weighbridge is a key part of our day-to-day operation. You will be responsible for accurately recording vehicles and materials entering and leaving the site, completing the necessary paperwork and system entries, and communicating with drivers and the wider site team.

This is a varied role that combines administration, customer service and site operations, so we're looking for someone who is comfortable working in a busy environment and can remain accurate and professional when things get hectic.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

• Operating the site weighbridge and accurately weighing vehicles entering and leaving the facility.
• Recording vehicle, customer, supplier and material information accurately on the weighbridge system.
• Checking and completing weighbridge tickets and associated documentation.
• Ensuring loads and paperwork comply with site procedures and relevant waste documentation requirements.
• Directing drivers to the appropriate areas of the site.
• Communicating clearly with drivers, customers, suppliers and site operatives.
• Answering telephone and email enquiries relating to deliveries and collections.
• Maintaining accurate records and filing documentation as required.
• Reporting any discrepancies, unusual loads or issues to the appropriate manager.
• Working closely with the yard and operations teams to help maintain an efficient flow of vehicles through the site.
• Following all site health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Carrying out general administrative duties associated with the weighbridge and site operation.

Previous experience operating a weighbridge or working within the recycling, waste management, transport, logistics or construction industries would be an advantage, although training can be provided for the right candidate.

Working Environment

Please be aware that this position is based at an operational recycling facility. Candidates should therefore be comfortable working in an industrial environment with regular vehicle movements, machinery, noise and outdoor site activity.
