Weightbridge Operator

About the role

Operate weighbridge systems for all incoming and outgoing vehicles at a terminal facility. You will verify vehicle details, cargo information, and supporting documentation before weighing, record and process weight transactions accurately in the terminal management system, and issue weighbridge tickets and related operational documents. You will ensure all weight records are complete, accurate, and properly filed.

Key responsibilities

Weighbridge Operations

• Operate weighbridge systems for all incoming and outgoing vehicles.
• Verify vehicle details, cargo information, and supporting documentation before weighing.
• Record and process weight transactions accurately in the terminal management system.
• Issue weighbridge tickets, delivery notes, and related operational documents.
• Ensure all weight records are complete, accurate, and properly filed.

Documentation & Data Management

• Maintain accurate daily weighbridge reports and transaction logs.

• Reconcile weighbridge records with dispatch, receiving, and inventory records.

• Immediately report discrepancies in vehicle weight, cargo quantity, or documentation.

• Ensure all operational records are maintained in accordance with company procedures and audit requirements.

Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with jetty, terminal, warehouse, logistics, and transport personnel to facilitate smooth cargo movements.
• Communicate effectively with truck drivers, transport contractors, and customers regarding weighing procedures.
• Support inventory control activities by providing timely and accurate weighing data.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, terminal regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Monitor vehicle movements within the terminal and ensure adherence to traffic and safety rules.
• Report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, incidents, or operational abnormalities to the Jetty Terminal Manager.
• Participate in safety meetings, drills, and training programs.

Equipment Monitoring

• Perform basic inspection and monitoring of equipment and peripherals.
• Report system faults, calibration issues, or maintenance requirements promptly.
• Assist in coordinating weighbridge calibration and maintenance activities.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma or Certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related discipline
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in weighbridge operations, logistics, warehouse, terminal, manufacturing, or related industries
• Experience in palm oil, edible oil, bulk liquid terminal, or port operations will be an added advantage
• Able to standby on shift, weekend where necessary
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
