Location: Northlake, Texas

Pay: $41 per hour

Per Diem: $140 per day, paid seven days per week ($980 per week)

Contract Duration: 3–6 months with potential for full-time hire

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Weld Inspector to support operations at an industrial fabrication shop in Northlake, Texas.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who understands fabrication and welding processes and can ensure completed work meets specifications, applicable codes, approved procedures, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect fabricated welds for compliance with specifications, codes, drawings, and shop requirements.
• Verify joint preparation, welding procedures, and filler materials.
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using appropriate gauges and instruments.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
• Identify nonconforming work and recommend corrective actions.
• Communicate findings to fabrication and QA/QC teams.
• Review welding procedures, inspection documentation, and welder qualifications.
• Support quality-control and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with shop safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• At least three years of weld inspection experience in a fabrication or industrial environment.
• Knowledge of AWS and ASME welding standards.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings.
• Experience with QA/QC procedures and inspection documentation.
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and professional workmanship.
• AWS CWI certification preferred, but equivalent experience may be considered.
