About the role

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our maintenance and facilities team on a full-time basis at Holiday Plaza Hotel in Cebu City, Cebu. In this role, you will be responsible for performing welding operations on various materials and structures throughout our hotel facilities. As a Welder, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the integrity and safety of our building infrastructure, ensuring that all welded joints meet stringent quality standards. Your technical expertise will be essential in supporting both routine maintenance and project-based work as required by our facilities management team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform welding operations using various techniques including MIG, TIG, and arc welding on steel, stainless steel, and other metal materials
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications to ensure accurate execution of work
• Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and positioning materials in preparation for welding
• Inspect completed welds for quality, strength, and adherence to specifications and safety standards
• Maintain welding equipment and tools in proper working condition, including regular maintenance and calibration
• Conduct repairs and modifications to hotel structural elements, fixtures, and equipment as required
• Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to complete facilities projects efficiently and safely
• Adhere to all occupational health and safety regulations and best practices on site
• Document work completed and maintain accurate records of welding operations and materials used

What we're looking for

• Recognised welding qualification or certification from an accredited trade institution or equivalent practical experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in multiple welding processes including MIG, TIG, and shielded metal arc welding
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications accurately
• Experience with metal fabrication and structural welding in a maintenance or industrial setting
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards relevant to welding operations
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship
• Physical fitness and ability to work in various positions, including overhead and confined spaces
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Reliability and a professional approach to work, with strong time management skills
• Preferably, previous experience in hospitality, hotel maintenance, or similar service-oriented environments
