Welder

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on a variety of materials and components in accordance with company and industry standards.
• Accurately and efficiently fabricate piping spools, brackets, supports, and other components according to engineered drawings and specifications.
• Fabricate custom components based on on-the-fly designs, measurements, and shop requirements when formal drawings are not available.
• Read and accurately interpret engineered drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, welding procedures, and specifications.
• Measure, cut, fit, tack, and weld components while maintaining proper dimensions, alignment, and tolerances.
• Perform fit-up and layout of piping, structural components, brackets, and related assemblies.
• Select appropriate welding techniques, equipment, and materials based on job requirements.
• Inspect completed welds and fabricated components for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
• Identify and correct welding or fabrication issues as necessary.
• Properly operate and maintain welding machines, grinders, cutting equipment, measuring tools, and other fabrication equipment.
• Maintain an organized and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and quality standards.
• Work closely with mechanics, supervisors, and other Truck Shop team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
• Perform additional welding, fabrication, and shop-related duties as assigned.

Skills

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Welding certificate or completion of an accredited welding program preferred.
• Previous professional experience performing TIG welding in a manufacturing, fabrication, industrial, or heavy-equipment environment.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineered drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and welding procedures.
• Experience fabricating piping spools, brackets, supports, and custom components.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and proper weld preparation.
• Ability to work independently from drawings and instructions while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
