ProMart Industrial is growing, and we are looking for skilled welders who take pride in their trade and want to grow with us.
We have work lined up into 2028, major investments underway in robotic welding and advanced fabrication equipment, and exciting projects across nuclear, mining, defence, data centres, energy, and infrastructure.
Behind every one of those projects are the people building them. We want welders who care about their work, support the people beside them, and understand the responsibility that comes with delivering a quality product.
About ProMart
ProMart is a third generation, family built fabrication and industrial contracting company operating in Sarnia since 1985.
Our operations include an 80,000 square foot fabrication shop, a 25,000 square foot climate controlled coating facility, and an 11 acre laydown and assembly yard. We provide detailing, fabrication, coatings, modular assembly, field installation, millwrighting, and construction services.
We are investing in this company for the long term, and we want good people to be part of that future.
The Role
You will weld structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and custom industrial assemblies using approved drawings and welding procedures.
You will work closely with fitters, lead hands, supervisors, and quality inspectors to deliver accurate, consistent work. Some projects will be completed under ProMart’s CSA N299.3 nuclear quality program, where traceability, procedure control, and documentation are essential parts of the job.
Responsibilities
- Complete welding using flux cored, metal cored, MIG, and stick processes as required for the assigned work
- Read and interpret shop drawings, welding symbols, and work instructions
- Verify material identification, joint preparation, fit up, and weld requirements before starting
- Follow approved welding procedures, including specified parameters, consumables, preheat, and interpass requirements
- Complete welds in the positions covered by your qualifications and assigned procedures
- Maintain proper cleaning between passes and prepare completed work for inspection
- Check weld size, profile, and visible workmanship, and raise concerns with the quality team
- Maintain material identification and weld traceability where required
- Complete approved weld repairs and present the work for reinspection
- Safely operate and maintain welding equipment, grinders, and related tools
- Use overhead cranes and material handling equipment only when trained and authorized
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Communicate fabrication concerns early and support production priorities
- Follow ProMart’s safety, quality, and operating procedures
What We Are Looking For
- Welding experience in a fabrication shop or industrial environment
- Strong experience with flux cored or metal cored welding
- The ability to read shop drawings and understand welding symbols
- A practical understanding of weld preparation, sequencing, and distortion control
- Current CWB welding qualifications are an asset
- The ability to complete welding tests required for the assigned work
- Nuclear, pressure equipment, stainless steel, or alloy welding experience is an asset
- Attention to detail and pride in producing consistent, quality welds
- Dependable attendance and a willingness to support your team
- The confidence to ask questions when instructions or requirements are unclear
