About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Welder to join our growing team on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out high-quality welding, fabrication and metalwork in accordance with technical specifications, drawings and workplace safety requirements.

This position is suitable for an experienced tradesperson who takes pride in their workmanship, can work independently and as part of a team, and is committed to maintaining a high standard of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding and fabrication work using appropriate welding techniques and equipment.
• Carry out MIG, TIG and/or Arc welding depending on project requirements.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, specifications and measurements.
• Cut, shape, join and fabricate metal components and structures.
• Set up and operate welding equipment, grinders, cutting tools and other fabrication machinery.
• Prepare metal surfaces prior to welding, including cleaning, cutting and grinding.
• Inspect completed welds and fabricated components to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Identify welding defects and complete necessary repairs or adjustments.
• Measure and accurately position components prior to welding and assembly.
• Complete general fabrication, fitting and assembly of metal components.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance of metal structures and equipment where required.
• Maintain welding equipment and tools in safe working condition.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, tradespeople and other team members to complete projects efficiently and within required timeframes.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will ideally have:

• Relevant trade qualification in Welding, Fabrication, Engineering or a related field.
• Previous experience working as a Welder, Metal Fabricator or in a similar trade position.
• Strong practical welding and fabrication skills.
• Experience with MIG, TIG and/or Arc welding.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans.
• Good knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, tools and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
• Ability to accurately measure, cut, fabricate and assemble metal components.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as within a team.
• Good communication, problem-solving and time-management skills.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to long-term employment.
