Position Overview

CenMac Metalworks is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Welder to join our manufacturing team. This is a full-time, on-site position working first shift at our Marion, Ohio facility.

The ideal candidate will have experience with MIG and TIG welding, the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings, and a strong commitment to producing high-quality work. This position requires attention to detail, a focus on workplace safety, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications.
• Set up and operate welding equipment to perform MIG, TIG, and other required welding processes.
• Prepare, measure, align, and fit metal components prior to welding.
• Perform welds according to established specifications and quality standards.
• Inspect completed welds for accuracy, strength, and overall workmanship.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment as needed.
• Maintain welding equipment and keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Collaborate with fabrication, machining, and production team members to meet project requirements and deadlines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and overall shop efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous welding experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
• Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
• Ability to consistently produce high-quality welds.
• Knowledge of various metals, alloys, and their characteristics during welding.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
• Experience using fabrication tools, equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and handle materials as required.
• Welding certifications or formal technical training are preferred but not required.

Weld Test Requirement: All candidates applying for a welding position at CenMac Metalworks must successfully complete a weld test as part of the hiring process. Passing the weld test is required to be considered for employment as a welder.

Shift: First Shift

Days: Monday – Friday

Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
