Conquip is looking for an experienced MIG Welder / Fabricator to join our well-established production team based in Hook, Hampshire.

This hands-on role requires a confident individual who can work from engineering drawings, tackle complex fabrication challenges and produce work to exacting standards.

The Role Key Responsibilities

• MIG welding and fabrication of structural steel components and assemblies to consistently high standards.
• Reading, interpreting and working independently from detailed engineering drawings and fabrication packs.
• Cutting, preparing, assembling and welding steel components to precise specifications.
• Building complex fabrications ensuring accuracy, structural integrity and quality throughout.
• Collaborating closely with production and design teams to identify improvements and resolve technical challenges.
• Operating workshop machinery, hand tools and welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Preparing finished fabrications for subsequent production stages.
• Maintaining excellent workshop standards and contributing to a productive, safety-focused environment.

What Were Looking For

Please note: Experience is essential. This is not an entry-level role.

• Proven, substantial experience in MIG welding and steel fabrication within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings independently.
• Confidence in fabricating components from initial preparation through to finished assembly.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and pride in workmanship.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts is advantageous.

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential due to the location and accessibility of our site.
