What they need
Build practical skills with an established Australian business
Enjoy working with your hands and seeing a finished product take shape? Join Mullins Wheels in Salisbury in a full-time workshop role combining trailer axle fabrication, welding and wheel manufacturing.
Mullins Wheels is an Australian family business established in Adelaide in 1905. Today, we supply wheels, trailer parts and automotive products to customers across Australia, with our workshop manufacturing axle assemblies and wheels for heavy duty custom applications to suit customers’ requirements.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can take the lead in a workshop environment and has the skills to develop best practice processes. Previous welding or fabrication experience is necessary, with some on-the-job training provided for the specific products we produce.
The role
You’ll work across the fabrication and assembly of trailer axles and heavy-duty wheels, from measuring and preparing materials through to welding, machining and quality control of the finished work.
The role offers variety across workshop tasks and equipment, with the opportunity to show your skills in fabrication while improving processes and contributing to the team’s production requirements.
Your responsibilities
· Fabricate and assemble trailer axles to the required specifications.
· Manufacture heavy-duty wheels for custom applications from ready-made components
· Carry out MIG welding and general fabrication work.
· Operate CNC machinery safely and accurately.
· Measure, cut and prepare materials for production.
· Move materials and finished products, including forklift operation where appropriately licensed.
· Quality control work for accuracy and quality, follow safe work procedures and keep the workshop tidy and organised.
About you
You must already have experience in welding, fabrication or a manufacturing workshop and want to broaden your skills taking on a lead role within a small team. We also welcome applications from those who may be looking to step away from a large fabrication or manufacturing environment and instead make an impact on a small team, manufacturing a specific product to the highest standards.
Welding and fabrication experience is required, but formal welding qualifications are not essential. CNC operating experience and a forklift licence would be advantages, but not necessary, as we can provide on-the-job training for the right applicant.
You’ll be comfortable following instructions, working independently on assigned tasks and helping your teammates meet production requirements.
What is on offer
· Full-time employment at our Salisbury workshop.
· Varied work across fabrication, welding and machine operation.
· On-the-job training where required.
· The opportunity to use your fabrication and CNC skills to improve product and process.
· A supportive team within an established Australian family business.

Please apply through SEEK with your resume and a short cover letter outlining your practical experience and interest in the role.
