Welder Helper/Laborer

We are seeking a motivated Welder Helper to join our metal fabrication team. In this entry-level role, you will assist experienced fabricators and welders with day-to-day shop operations, material preparation, and equipment setup. We are looking for a reliable individual who is eager to learn, takes pride in hands-on work, and wants to build a long-term career in the welding and fabrication industry. some Training is provided, with strong opportunities to advance as your skills grow.

Duties

• Assist welders with material handling, positioning, and securing metal components for welding or fabrication
• Prepare work areas by cleaning, grinding, and setting up tools and equipment
• Assist in fabrication tasks
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Measure materials accurately using shop math, measuring instruments.
• Assist with welding tasks such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and stick welding under supervision

Requirements

• Prior construction site experience or metal fabrication background preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately is a plus and higher pay will be considered
• Familiarity with welding techniques including SMAW, GMAW/MIG, TIG welding, FCAW, and plasma cutting a plus
• Knowledge of mechanical blueprint interpretation and shop math for precise measurements
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, machining equipment, and measuring tools
• Ability to follow safety protocols diligently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn

Pay: $16.00 - $21.50 per hour
