WELDER/ MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN

Job Summary:
The Welder is responsible for joining, assembling, and repairing metal components according to specifications, blueprints, or work orders. This role ensures high-quality welds, structural integrity, and compliance with safety standards in the production or fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
2. Select appropriate welding methods, equipment, and materials (MIG, TIG, Arc, etc.).
3. Prepare and clean metal surfaces before welding.
4. Perform welding operations to join or repair metal parts.
5. Inspect welds for quality, strength, and accuracy; perform touch-ups as needed.
6. Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
7. Follow all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
8. Collaborate with other production staff to meet production schedules.
9. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
• Proficient in welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of metal properties, welding safety standards, and procedures.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to handle welding tasks safely.
• Attention to detail and quality-conscious mindset.

Working Conditions:

• Production/fabrication environment with exposure to heat, sparks, and metal fumes.
• May require standing for extended periods and lifting heavy materials.
