Welder - MIG

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated MIG Welder to join our fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding operations using Metal Inert Gas (MIG) techniques to assemble and fabricate metal components according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of durable, precise metal structures and products, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality benchmarks.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding requirements.
• Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and setting up materials using hand tools and power tools.
• Perform MIG welding (Gas Metal Arc Welding - GMAW) on various metal materials including sheet metal, pipe, and structural components following AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
• Operate fabrication equipment like plasma cutters, pipe threading machines, and rigging tools to assist in assembly processes.
• Maintain a clean work environment by adhering to safety protocols, inspecting welds for quality assurance, and documenting work progress accurately.
• Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks, fabrication projects, and troubleshooting welding issues efficiently.

Experience

• Experience working in fabrication shops with a strong understanding of mechanical fabrication processes preferred.
• Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and mechanical blueprints for accurate fabrication.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols related to welding operations and metal fabrication environments.
• Mechanical knowledge combined with shop math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
