Job Overview

United Welding Processes is seeking a skilled, hands-on Welder to join our team specializing in the repair and restoration of metal castings.This position involves welding cast iron and aluminum components, performing precision drilling and tapping, and completing specialized repairs. We are looking for a candidate with a strong foundation in stick and TIG welding, excellent attention to detail, and a willingness to learn specialized repair techniques.Previous cast iron welding experience is not required. Candidates with solid welding fundamentals and the right mechanical aptitude will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and repair work on castings, including cast iron and aluminum components.

• Use stick (SMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding processes as required.- Prepare, clean, and inspect components before welding and repair.

• Identify cracks, defects, and damaged areas in castings.

• Perform drilling and tapping operations as part of the repair process.

• Use hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment to complete repairs accurately.

• Follow repair procedures and quality requirements.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Experience

• Experience with stick and TIG welding.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.

• Knowledge of drilling and tapping procedures.

• Ability to read measurements and work accurately to specifications.

• Comfortable working with metal components and specialized repair tasks.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

• Willingness to learn specialized cast iron repair techniques.

-Experience in cast iron repair is considered an asset but is not required.

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
