Welder - Structural

International Welding & Fabrication is seeking experienced Structural Welders to join our fabrication team. We are looking for dependable, safety-minded individuals with strong structural welding experience who take pride in producing quality work.

This is a full-time position working in an industrial metal fabrication shop environment. DAY AND NIGHT SHIFT OPTIONS AVAILABLE.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on carbon steel components and assemblies.
• Weld using FCAW (Flux Core) and SMAW (Stick) processes.
• Weld structural components including beams, columns, frames, supports, platforms, stairs, handrails, and other fabricated steel assemblies.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
• Fit and position components as necessary for welding and assembly.
• Perform fillet and groove welds in various positions.
• Use grinders, cutting torches, magnetic drills, and other common fabrication shop tools.
• Prepare material and weld joints by grinding, beveling, cleaning, and removing defects as required.
• Inspect completed welds and workmanship to ensure they meet job specifications and quality requirements.
• Perform repairs or rework when necessary.
• Assist with material handling, layout, fabrication, and assembly as needed.
• Maintain welding equipment, leads, tools, and assigned work areas.
• Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and quality standards.
• Work efficiently with fitters, supervisors, inspectors, and other members of the fabrication team.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of structural welding experience preferred.
• Must be proficient in welding all positions with Flux Core and Stick welding on carbon steel.
• Previous experience working in a structural steel or industrial metal fabrication shop is required.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints, weld symbols, and shop drawings.
• Must be able to produce quality welds in multiple positions.
• Must be comfortable using grinders, torches, and other fabrication tools.
• Must be able to safely lift, position, and work around heavy steel materials.
• Must be dependable and able to maintain regular attendance.
• Must be able to work in hot and cold shop conditions.
• Must be able to work overtime when required.
• Must be able to pass a hands-on welding/skills test to demonstrate proficiency.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test.
• Must meet applicable company and project background requirements.

Pay: Up to $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 70.0 per week
