Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Welder - Structural to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing precise welding and assembly of structural metal components used in construction and industrial projects. Duties

• Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints to determine welding requirements and fabrication specifications.
• Perform welding operations using various techniques including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) on structural steel, sheet metal, and other metal materials.
• Measure and mark materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise cuts and welds.
• Use power tools, plasma cutters, gas metal arc welding equipment, and hand tools to cut, shape, assemble, and fabricate metal components.
• Conduct pipe threading, assembly, and fabrication tasks with attention to detail while following safety protocols and AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
• Inspect completed welds for quality using calipers, micrometers, and visual inspection techniques; perform necessary rework or adjustments to meet quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the fabrication shop or construction site while adhering to safety procedures at all times.
• Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving mechanical fabrication, machining, or assembly of large structures.

Experience

• Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of structural steel welding processes.
• Hands-on experience with various welding techniques including FCAW, MIG, TIG, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding in a fabrication shop or construction environment.
• Familiarity with blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and shop math is essential.
• Knowledge of metal materials such as sheet metal and structural steel used in construction projects.
• Ability to operate measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers accurately for quality control purposes.
• Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes including pipe threading, plasma cutting, machining, and assembly.
• Experience working with power tools and hand tools safely while following strict safety protocols.
• Prior exposure to AWS standards for welding quality assurance is highly desirable.
• Construction experience involving heavy equipment such as cranes is a plus but not mandatory.

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
