Welder/Burner (Combination)

We are seeking an experienced welder/burner with a strong background in shipyard operations. The ideal candidate will have prior hands-on shipyard experience and be skilled in performing welding and burning tasks both on and off vessels while adhering to strict safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform welding and burning operations on ships and related structures in accordance with industry and company standards.
• Follow all safety procedures, including fire watch requirements and proper use of PPE.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical instructions.
• Operate and maintain welding and cutting equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects within deadlines.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in both welding and burning processes.
• Strong understanding of shipyard safety regulations and protocols.
• Ability to work at heights if needed, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
• Physical stamina and strength to handle demanding work conditions.
• Certification in welding is preferred but not required.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge in stick welding/torch cutting and fitting.
• Speaks Spanish
• Experienced working with various metals, including steel and aluminum.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team and follow directions.
• Experienced in hand tools

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour
