Welder/Fabricator

We are seeking a skilled MIG/TIG Welder to join our fabrication team. This position performs basic to intermediate welding and fabrication tasks, including welding pressure vessel components and non-code structures in accordance with applicable ASME codes, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), blueprints, and company quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience with MIG and TIG welding, fit-up, fabrication, and joint preparation. The successful candidate must be able to produce high-quality welds in a fabrication environment, safely operate welding and finishing equipment, and maintain accurate, clean, and professional workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on pressure vessel components, fabricated assemblies, and non-code structures.
• Follow approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and applicable ASME requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and technical drawings.
• Set up, operate, and maintain MIG/TIG welding equipment and related tools.
• Weld, cut, fit, and fabricate metal components according to specifications.
• Perform fit-up and alignment of components prior to welding.
• Prepare materials and joints through cutting, grinding, cleaning, beveling, and other preparation methods.
• Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, proper dimensions, and weld appearance.
• Perform weld cleanup and finishing using grinders and other appropriate tools.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in safe and operational condition.
• Follow all company safety procedures, quality requirements, and shop practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Successfully complete a practical weld test as part of the hiring process.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of a welding program or at least 1 year of welding experience required.
• Demonstrated experience with MIG and TIG welding.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
• Experience with fit-up, fabrication, joint preparation, and component alignment.
• Ability to safely use grinders, cutting equipment, and finishing tools.
• Ability to follow written procedures, specifications, and instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to work effectively in a fabrication/shop environment.
• Must be able to successfully pass a practical welding test during the hiring process.

Preferred Experience

• Experience welding stainless steel.
• Experience with pressure vessel fabrication.
• Experience working to ASME codes and welding procedures.
• Experience with structural steel fabrication.
• Experience welding and fabricating various metals and material thicknesses.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial fabrication environment.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
