Welder/Fabricator

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled MIG Welder with a strong background in Fabrication to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of construction projects, fabrication shop tasks, and custom metalwork. Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine project specifications.
• Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
• Fabricate metal components by cutting, shaping, and assembling sheet metal and other metal materials using plasma cutters, power tools, hand tools, and machining equipment.
• Measure and mark materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication.
• Assemble fabricated parts according to technical specifications, ensuring proper fit-up and alignment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and using appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
• Collaborate with team members on construction site projects or fabrication shop tasks to meet project deadlines efficiently.

Duties

• Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding, and other specialized welding techniques to join metal parts accurately.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine weld locations, angles, and specifications.
• Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and pipe threading equipment to prepare materials for welding or assembly.
• Cut, bend, and assemble pipes or tubing using tube bending techniques in accordance with project requirements.
• Maintain compliance with ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes & standards for pressure vessels, pipelines, and other critical components.
• Conduct routine inspections of welds using calipers, schematics, and visual checks; perform soldering or maintenance tasks as needed.
• Operate rigging equipment for lifting heavy materials safely on construction sites or manufacturing facilities.
• Follow safety protocols diligently while working on construction sites or manufacturing floors to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.

Skills

• Proficiency in MIG welding techniques. Ready to get AWS D1.1 Certified.
• Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
• Mechanical knowledge of fabrication and assembly processes.
• Experience working with hand tools, power tools, calipers, and rigging equipment in construction or manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with ASME codes & standards related to structural welding.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
• Construction site experience demonstrating safety awareness and adaptability in dynamic settings.
• Ability to interpret schematics for complex mechanical or piping systems.
• Experience with maintenance tasks involving mechanical parts or welded structures is desirable. Pay: $25.48 - $30.68 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
