At Genesis, you’ll be joining a team that believes in doing the right thing, getting things done, doing quality work, finding a way forward, and working together. If you're organized, practical, and enjoy being part of a team that takes pride in getting the job done right, we'd like to hear from you.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Welder/Fitter to join our afternoon shift. You’ll work from drawings and specifications to fit, assemble, and weld metal components for custom and production projects. You will:

  • Use measuring tools and shop equipment to ensure accurate fit-up and finished work.
  • Operate fabrication equipment and assist with material handling as required.
  • Inspect completed work, identify quality issues, and make corrections as needed.
  • Work with the production team to meet schedules and keep jobs moving through the shop.
  • Maintain a clean work area and follow company safety procedures.

What You Bring to the Team

You’re hands-on, mechanically inclined, and take pride in producing quality work. You pay attention to detail, can work from drawings, and understand the importance of working safely and meeting production requirements. You bring:

  • At least 2 years of welding and fabrication experience, preferably in metal fabrication or manufacturing.
  • Experience with MIG welding and fitting fabricated components.
  • CWB certification is an asset.
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with measuring tools, grinders, plasma cutters, and other common shop equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
  • A commitment to quality, safe work practices, and teamwork.
  • The ability to perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and standing for extended periods.

Experience with overhead cranes, forklifts, rigging, or plasma cutting is an asset.

Why Genesis?

You'll work alongside skilled tradespeople, contribute to real projects, and see the work move from an idea or drawing to a finished product. It's a hands-on environment where people are encouraged to take ownership, solve problems, and find better ways to get the job done. This opportunity includes:

  • Competitive compensation of $25 - $35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications;
