Welder/Fitter

Position Summary:

The Fitter plans, lays out, fits, and assembles metal parts, weld accessories, and subassemblies to fabricate production machines and other equipment.

Duties:

• Read and understand single line drawings, double line drawings, isometrics, shop fabrication drawings, and mechanical schematics
• Select the size and type of pipe, and related materials and equipment such as support, hangars, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications
• Cuts pipe, using saws, pipe cutter, grinder, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine
• Connects pipe using threaded, welded, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools
• Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangars, using hand tools and power tools
• May operate machinery to lift parts and materials
• Examine and measure fabricated components to make sure they are the correct size
• Cleaning the work area before and after work
• Willingness to perform other duties as required.

Job Qualifications:

1. Working experience as a Fitter or similar position in the construction industry

2. Excellent mechanical and technical skills

3. Strong attention to detail

4. Problem solving

5. Good time management and organizational skills

6. Communication and teamwork

7. Self-Driven

8. Ability to lift up to 55 pounds.

9. Willingness to work OT, DT as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
