Welder/Fitter Day Shift & Swing Shift

Duties

• Welds basic 1G and 2G weldments, under close supervision.
• Welds consistently meet AWS and QC standards.
• Performs assigned tasks within accepted time frames.
• May weld in a training environment to gain skills and achieve promotion to obtain certificate.
• Self-check quality of welds.
• Measure dimensions using calipers and micrometers to ensure accuracy in fabrication.
• Able to heat straighten; proficient with cutting torch.
• Welds components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
• Fabricates components by welding pieces and filing gaps.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

Requirements

• Proven experience in welding, fabrication, and construction site environments.
• Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, plasma cutting, and soldering techniques.
• Familiarity with mechanical knowledge including assembly processes and machining practices.
• Strong understanding of ASME codes & standards related to welding practices.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material requirements,

• Can read and interpret blueprints.
• Operate a variety of machine shop equipment, grinder, needle scalers, are pre-heat torches in addition to welding equipment.
• Can follow processes and procedures.

• Function effectively as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
