Welders

Workfast is looking for experienced Welders to join our team in Pinkenba, QLD, working within the heavy steel industry.

• $40.00/hr + penalties
• Immediate start with ongoing, consistent work.
• Casual position with full-time hours (Day shifts only).

Our client is a global manufacturing business operating nationally across Australia. Due to a significant upturn in production, they need to expand their fabrication workforce immediately. Candidates must be reliable, hardworking, punctual, physically fit, and possess strong structural welding capabilities. This is a casual position offering full-time hours on Day shift, with excellent opportunities for long-term career progression.

Key Requirements

• Relevant Trade Qualification in Boilermaking, Engineering, or Fabrication (or extensive proven experience).
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in heavy structural welding (MIG / FCAW highly regarded).
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from mechanical engineering drawings and weld symbols.
• Physically fit and capable of undertaking demanding manual work in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Good communication skills and a strong, team-player mindset.
• Current Queensland Construction Induction (White Card).

Key Responsibilities

• Performing high-quality welding and fabrication on heavy steel products and structural components.
• Preparing materials, grinding, cutting, and performing routine quality checks on finished welds to ensure they meet strict industry standards.
• Setting up welding equipment and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
• Strictly adhering to all site workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements.
• Successfully passing a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen.
• Completing any other general fabrication or workshop duties as required by the site manager to keep operations running smoothly.
