Welding Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize welding processes for automotive production (Spot Welding, MIG, MAG, TIG, Laser Welding, etc.).
• Establish and maintain welding parameters, procedures, and work instructions to ensure product quality.
• Monitor welding quality and investigate welding defects, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Support new product launches by developing welding processes and validating welding equipment.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to resolve welding-related issues.
• Analyze production data and implement continuous improvement activities to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Ensure welding processes comply with customer requirements and automotive standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, OEM requirements).
• Evaluate welding equipment, fixtures, jigs, and robots to improve production efficiency.
• Train and provide technical support to production personnel on welding processes and quality requirements.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental requirements in welding operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3–5 years of experience in welding engineering within the automotive manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, including Spot Welding, MIG, MAG, TIG, and Laser Welding.
• Familiar with automotive quality standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
• Experience with robotic welding systems and welding process optimization is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
• Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD or CAD software is an advantage.
