Tasks / Roles and Responsibilities

1. Representation:

Authorized representative for welding for 1090/3834/ISO/ASME/PESO Standards.

2. Process Development and Optimization:

Develop and write Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and provide technical support for welder qualification testing.

3. Quality Assurance:

To review project specifications for welding processes, base metal, filler metal, and heat treatment requirements. Overseeing welding quality control and assurance, conducting inspections and tests, and implementing corrective actions for welding defects.

Responsible for Qualitative output from welders.

4. Customer Liaison:

Interact with Customers for Welding protocols, Joint design, evolving and modifying WPS as required.

5. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:

Analyzing welding-related issues, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions to ensure successful welding operations.

6. Training and Technical Support:

Shall train the welders for qualification. Shall be responsible for the Training Center, curriculum, and maintenance of qualification certificates.

Review, comment, and approve welding procedures and welder performance qualifications.

7. Documentation and Reporting:
Preparing technical reports, documentation, and records related to welding procedures, inspections, and tests.

8. Research and Innovation:

Shall implement the latest advancements in welding technology and production practices, and research to automate welding processes.

9. Collaboration:

Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure welding requirements are met.

Job requirements (education, experience, additional qualifications)

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, with CSWIP3.1/AWS Certification.

· Post graduation in Welding is preferred.

· Professional certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Plant Management will be an added advantage

Experience: Minimum 10 years for a Graduate Engineer with welding certification, or minimum 3 years for a Post-Graduate in Welding

Mandatory Skills:

· Should be fully conversant with WPS/PQR/WQT, and different welding processes such as SAW, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW.

· A Clean Quality and Safety record is mandatory.

Preferred Skills:

· Working and implementation knowledge of 5S, Kaizen.

· Should have handled a team of welders.

Pay: From ₹40,000.00 per month
