Welding Inspector

CWI Job Description – Anomaly Digs Location: Oregon

Duration: 2 months

Epcon is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) for a pipeline anomaly dig project in Oregon. The CWI will inspect repair welds on excavated pipe and document all work to client and code requirements.

Responsibilities

• Inspect repair welds, sleeves, and tie-ins to API 1104 and project specs
• Verify WPS, welder qualifications, fit-up, and preheat
• Perform visual inspection and witness NDE
• Complete daily weld logs and inspection reports
• Report nonconformances to the client rep immediately

Requirements

• Current AWS CWI certification
• 5+ years of pipeline weld inspection experience
• Knowledge of API 1104 and PHMSA 49 CFR 192/195
• OQ credentials preferred
• Own PPE and inspection tools
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen
