Welding Inspector

Contract Summary

We are seeking an experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with a strong background in the oil and gas industry to support construction projects and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company specifications. The ideal candidate will have extensive welding inspection experience, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced field environment.

Work Location

This position supports construction projects throughout West Texas, South Texas, and Oklahoma. Travel to project sites is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify welder qualifications and welding procedures to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company requirements.
• Perform visual inspections of welding activities, materials, and installation methods to confirm conformance with project specifications and drawings.
• Maintain accurate weld tracking, including weld counts, repairs, rejections, and weld mapping documentation.
• Prepare sketches, isometric drawings, and as-built drawings for construction projects.
• Complete daily inspection reports and maintain detailed records of welding activities, NDE reports, and material documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company construction specifications, safety requirements, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with project teams to identify and resolve welding and construction quality issues.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5-7 years of construction experience, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of welding procedures, fabrication methods, and applicable construction and welding codes.
• Experience reviewing and interpreting pipeline and station drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Certifications & Training

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification preferred.
• Applicable Operator Qualifications (OQ) related to assigned duties.
• Knowledge of NDE processes and reporting requirements.
