Welding Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding and fabrication of steel structures, frames, brackets, supports, and other metal components.
• Carry out MIG/MAG, ARC, and other welding processes as required.
• Cut, shape, grind, and prepare steel materials for welding.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications.
• Measure and mark materials accurately before cutting and fabrication.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure strength, quality, and accuracy.
• Identify and repair welding defects when required.
• Assemble and install fabricated steel components according to specifications.
• Operate welding machines, grinders, cutting equipment, and other fabrication tools safely.
• Perform routine maintenance of welding equipment and tools.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordinate with the maintenance and technical teams to complete tasks on time.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Steel Welder or Fabricator.
• Practical experience in steel welding and metal fabrication.
• Knowledge of MIG/MAG and ARC welding techniques; TIG welding is an advantage.
• Ability to read technical drawings and take accurate measurements.
• Knowledge of steel materials, welding joints, and fabrication methods.
• Familiarity with welding tools, cutting machines, and grinding equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant welding certification or technical training is an advantage.
