Position Summary

We're looking for a reliable, hardworking, and flexible Wellness Coordinator to join our team! This is a hands-on position in a busy shelter environment where no two days are the same.

The ideal candidate is dependable, works well under pressure, has strong animal handling skills, and can adapt quickly to changing priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely handle and restrain cats and dogs of various sizes and temperaments.
• Administer vaccines, medications, and treatments.
• Perform blood draws and assist with basic medical procedures.
• Monitor animal health and recognize signs of illness or distress.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Communicate with fosters, staff, volunteers, and veterinary partners.
• Transport animals to and from veterinary appointments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
• Assist with other shelter duties as needed.

Qualifications & Expectations

• Reliability is a MUST! Consistent attendance, punctuality, and dependability are essential.
• Schedule flexibility is REQUIRED. Must be willing and able to adjust schedules based on shelter needs, including weekends and some holidays.
• Reliable transportation is REQUIRED. Must have access to a dependable vehicle for work-related animal transportation.
• Must thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment and be able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
• Previous animal handling and basic veterinary medical experience preferred.
• Comfortable handling animals with different medical and behavioral needs.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically able to lift and restrain animals and remain on your feet for extended periods.
