What they need
Part-Time Personal Trainer / Fitness Coach
Slade Fit Club | Lakeway, TX
Approximately 20 Hours per Week | $25–$32/hour | Potential to Grow into Full-Time Salaried Position
Build a Career in Fitness — Not Just Pick Up Another Fitness Job
Slade Fit Club is a boutique fitness and personal training club located in the heart of Lakeway, Texas. We have been serving the Lakeway community for more than a decade and have built our reputation around exceptional coaching, personal attention, functional strength, longevity, and genuine relationships with our members.
We are currently looking for a part-time Personal Trainer/Fitness Coach to join our team for approximately 20 hours per week , with the potential to grow into a full-time salaried position .
We are looking for someone who sees fitness and personal training as a career they want to develop , not simply another part-time job. We understand that the right candidate may currently have another job or existing clients, and we can offer some flexibility with training hours. However, our goal is to find someone who wants to grow with Slade Fit Club, develop as a professional coach, take on greater responsibility over time, and potentially transition into a full-time role.
Who We Are:
Slade Fit Club isn't a large commercial gym, and we don't want to be one.
We are a small, community-driven fitness club specializing in semi-private personal training, 1-on-1 personal training, functional strength, longevity, and working with adults of varying fitness levels and physical limitations.
Our semi-private sessions are intentionally small, typically with no more than 5–6 members. This allows our coaches to actually coach — correcting form, modifying exercises, understanding injuries and limitations, challenging members appropriately, and building meaningful relationships.
Many of our members have trained with us for years. That loyalty comes from providing an experience that is personal, professional, welcoming, and difficult to find in a traditional gym environment.
We also believe fitness should extend beyond workouts. SFC regularly hosts member events, social outings, challenges, educational opportunities, and community activities that help create the culture our members value.
What You'll Do:
As an SFC trainer, you will:
- Coach semi-private strength training sessions of approximately 5–6 members.
- Provide 1-on-1 personal training as your schedule and client base develop.
- Correct movement patterns and exercise technique with confidence and professionalism.
- Modify exercises for different fitness levels, injuries, limitations, and abilities.
- Motivate and encourage members while maintaining a high standard of coaching.
- Learn each member's goals, limitations, and individual needs.
- Help new members feel comfortable, welcomed, and set up for success.
- Manage session timing, equipment, transitions, and the training floor.
- Set up and break down workouts and equipment.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, professional training environment.
- Assist with basic administrative responsibilities, member check-ins, and studio operations when needed.
- Promote and participate in SFC member events and community activities.
- Be willing to learn and consistently execute the Slade Fit Club approach to coaching and training.
We're Looking for Someone Who:
- Has at least 1 year of personal training and/or group fitness coaching experience .
- Holds a nationally recognized Personal Training or Group Fitness certification.
- Has current CPR/AED certification .
- Has strong knowledge of strength training, movement, exercise technique, and proper form.
- Is comfortable coaching adults across a wide range of ages and fitness abilities.
- Understands that great coaching requires more than demonstrating exercises.
- Is confident, personable, energetic, and able to connect with people.
- Is dependable and takes ownership of their responsibilities.
- Is highly coachable and wants to continue learning.
- Works well as part of a small team.
- Wants to build a long-term career in fitness and personal training .
Experience working with older adults, injury modifications, corrective exercise, biomechanics, or pre/post-rehabilitation clients is a strong plus.
Schedule:
This position will begin at approximately 20 hours per week .
Our greatest current need includes weekday afternoon/evening hours, with additional daytime and occasional Saturday hours available.
Some scheduling flexibility is possible for the right candidate, particularly during the initial part-time phase. As the position grows, additional coaching hours, personal training clients, and responsibilities may become available.
We are specifically looking for someone interested in growing their role over time , with the possibility of transitioning into a full-time salaried coaching position.
Compensation & Growth:
- $25–$32/hour , based on experience, certifications, and coaching ability
- Approximately 20 hours per week to start
- Company-paid gym membership benefit for eligible employees
- Access to training/workouts at Slade Fit Club
- Ongoing education and professional development
- Opportunity to develop a personal training client base
- Opportunity for increased hours and responsibilities
- Potential pathway into a full-time salaried position
Training & Onboarding:
Because our coaching model is highly personalized, every new trainer completes an SFC training and onboarding period.
Initial training will take approximately 3–4 weeks and will include observing sessions, learning our programming and coaching standards, working with our trainers, and demonstrating your ability to coach members safely and effectively.
Training availability during weekday mornings, ideally between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM , will be important during this initial period.
At the end of training, candidates will complete a brief knowledge assessment and practical coaching evaluation.
The Person We're Hoping to Find:
You don't need to know everything on Day One.
You do need to love coaching people, care about doing things correctly, be willing to learn, and genuinely want to become an exceptional trainer.
If you're looking for a few fitness classes to teach on the side, this probably isn't the right position.
If you're looking for a place where you can develop your coaching skills, build relationships with clients, learn from an experienced team, and potentially turn a part-time position into a long-term career , we'd love to meet you.
To apply, please submit your resume along with a short introduction telling us why you chose fitness as a career and what you're looking for in your next coaching position.
Other offers great for you!
