For one of our clients, we are currently looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer with solid experience across the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem to design, build, and optimize end‑to‑end analytical solutions.

This role sits at the crossroads of data engineering, analytics, and business intelligence, working closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to deliver trusted, high‑performance insights that truly support decision‑making.

🎯 Your key responsibilities

🔄 Data Integration & Pipelines

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory / Synapse Pipelines, Azure Databricks (when applicable), and Azure Functions

• Ingest data from multiple sources (REST APIs, databases, files, SaaS platforms) into Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, following best practices for performance, schema evolution, and cost control

🏗️ Data Modeling & Data Warehousing

• Design star and snowflake schemas and build semantic layers using Azure Synapse Analytics / Azure SQL Database and Power BI datasets (Import, DirectQuery, Composite)

• Implement medallion architectures (Bronze / Silver / Gold) when relevant

• Ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, and governance processes

📊 Analytics & Visualization

• Develop intuitive, performant Power BI reports and dashboards

• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS), aggregations, and incremental refresh

• Create reusable DAX measures, calculation groups, and optimize data model and query performance

🔐 Governance, Security & Compliance

• Apply data governance and cataloging principles using Microsoft Purview

• Implement RLS / OLS and ensure compliance with data protection regulations (including GDPR)

• Manage environments, version control, and deployments using Azure DevOps (Git, CI/CD) and Power BI deployment pipelines

⚙️ Operations & Optimization

• Monitor reliability, performance, and costs using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Cost Management

• Set up alerts and contribute to SLA definition

• Document solutions (data dictionaries, lineage, runbooks) and promote self‑service BI across business teams

🤝 Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Translate business needs into technical requirements and KPIs

• Run requirements‑gathering workshops

• Provide training and ongoing support to analysts and power users

🧠 Your profile

✅ 3–5+ years of experience in BI, Data Engineering, or Analytics, with hands‑on experience on Azure
✅ Strong knowledge of:

• Azure Data Factory / Synapse Pipelines

• Azure SQL (Azure SQL Database, Synapse SQL Pools) & advanced T‑SQL

• Power BI (data modeling, DAX, RLS, incremental refresh, performance tuning)

• Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Parquet / Delta concepts

• Git & CI/CD practices (Azure DevOps)

✅ Solid understanding of dimensional modeling, ETL/ELT design, and performance optimization
✅ Experience with data security and governance (Purview, tenant & workspace settings)
✅ Strong communication skills and a stakeholder‑oriented mindset
✅ Professional proficiency in Dutch, French, and English
