What they need
- Preparing and organising ingredients and cooking stations before service begins
- Assisting in the preparation of vegetables, meats, fish and other ingredients to specified standards
- Supporting the production of dishes according to established recipes and plating requirements
- Maintaining standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Operating kitchen equipment safely and correctly under supervision
- Contributing to the smooth running of kitchen service by responding promptly to direction from senior chefs
- Assisting with stock rotation, storage and inventory management
- Learning and developing knowledge of menu items, ingredients and cooking methods
- Supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive team environment
