About the Organisation

Our client is a well established not for profit organisation operating within the education sector. With a strong focus on supporting its people and broader community, the organisation is seeking an experienced WH&S Coordinator to provide hands on support across workplace health and safety for the remainder of the year.

About the Role

Working closely with key internal stakeholders, the WH&S Coordinator will support the organisation in maintaining a safe, compliant and proactive workplace.

This is a hands on coordination role suited to someone who can quickly step into an established environment, manage competing priorities and provide practical WH&S support across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating day to day WH&S activities, documentation and administration

• Maintaining WH&S registers, records, policies and procedures

• Supporting incident reporting, investigations and follow up actions

• Monitoring hazards, risks and corrective actions to ensure appropriate resolution

• Assisting with risk assessments and workplace safety initiatives

• Supporting WH&S compliance requirements and continuous improvement activities

• Preparing reports and maintaining accurate safety data

• Providing practical WH&S guidance to managers and employees

• Supporting consultation, communication and safety awareness initiatives across the organisation

  About You

  You will have previous experience in a WH&S Coordinator, WH&S Advisor or similar position and be comfortable operating in a hands on role.

  You will ideally bring:

• Previous experience supporting workplace health and safety activities

• A sound understanding of WH&S legislation, compliance and risk management principles

• Experience with incident management, risk assessments and WH&S documentation

• Strong administration, reporting and record keeping capabilities

• Confidence communicating with stakeholders at different levels of an organisation

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities

• A practical and collaborative approach to workplace safety

• Relevant WH&S qualifications will be highly regarded

  Experience within education, not for profit or another people focused environment would be advantageous.
