Wheel Alignment Technician - Automotive

Job Purpose

The Wheel Alignment Technician is responsible for performing accurate wheel alignment, wheel balancing, tire-related services, and inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety, handling, and manufacturer specifications. The role requires proper use of alignment and workshop equipment while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform 2-wheel and 4-wheel alignment using computerized wheel alignment equipment.
• Inspect steering and suspension components before performing alignment.
• Check and adjust camber, caster, toe, and thrust angle according to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform wheel balancing and identify wheel/tire imbalance issues.
• Remove, install, rotate, and replace tires as required.
• Inspect tires for uneven wear, damage, air pressure, and other safety concerns.
• Diagnose alignment-related issues such as vehicle pulling, steering wheel vibration, and uneven tire wear.
• Carry out tire puncture repairs and tire pressure checks when required.
• Ensure wheels are properly torqued according to manufacturer specifications.
• Operate wheel alignment machines, tire changers, wheel balancers, lifts, and other workshop equipment safely.
• Conduct pre- and post-alignment inspections and road tests when required.
• Maintain proper records of alignment measurements and completed jobs.
• Inform the Workshop Supervisor of any damaged or defective suspension, steering, or tire components.
• Follow manufacturer specifications and workshop procedures for all repairs and adjustments.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of the work bay and equipment.
• Follow all workshop safety, HSE, and company policies.
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and reported if defective.
• Complete assigned jobs within the required time and quality standards.
• Coordinate with Service Advisors and other technicians when additional repairs are identified.

Requirements

• ITI, Diploma, or relevant technical qualification is preferred.
• 2–4 years of experience as a Wheel Alignment Technician or Tire Technician.
• Experience in an automotive workshop, dealership, or service center is preferred.
• Good knowledge of wheel alignment, tire fitting, balancing, steering, and suspension systems.
• Ability to operate computerized wheel alignment and wheel balancing equipment.
• Knowledge of different vehicle makes and models.
• Ability to diagnose basic steering, suspension, and tire-related problems.
• Good understanding of workshop safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• UAE/GCC automotive workshop experience is an advantage.
