About LeMoyen

LeMoyen, LLC is a growing industrial wood products manufacturer serving the Gulf South. Our operation produces industrial mats, kiln-dried and treated pine, and other wood products. Safe and efficient material movement is essential to keeping our log yard, production areas, and shipping operations running effectively.

Position Overview

LeMoyen is seeking an experienced Wheel Loader Operator to move, stage, stockpile, and load materials throughout the facility. Materials may include logs, lumber, mats, chips, dust, residual wood products, and other approved production materials.

The successful candidate will operate with care around employees, trucks, equipment, buildings, and stored inventory. Success means maintaining safe material flow, protecting equipment and products, completing accurate loads, and preventing production delays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate wheel loaders and approved attachments
  • Move, stage, stockpile, and load logs, lumber, wood products, residuals, and other assigned materials
  • Supply production areas with the correct material while avoiding unnecessary delays
  • Load trucks, bins, hoppers, or staging areas as assigned without overloading or contaminating materials
  • Build and maintain stable, organized stockpiles
  • Protect finished products and raw materials from avoidable handling damage
  • Coordinate movements with log-yard, production, warehouse, treatment, and shipping personnel
  • Maintain safe distances from pedestrians, trucks, buildings, equipment, and overhead hazards
  • Use radios, horns, lights, hand signals, and spotters as required
  • Adjust operation for blind spots, soft ground, slopes, weather, traffic, and changing yard conditions
  • Complete pre-shift inspections of tires, brakes, steering, hydraulics, attachments, lights, alarms, and fluid levels
  • Report leaks, damage, unusual sounds, control problems, or unsafe conditions immediately
  • Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, fueling, and operator-level care as assigned
  • Keep travel lanes, loading areas, and work zones orderly and free of avoidable obstructions
  • Record or communicate loads, material movements, downtime, and inventory concerns when required
  • Follow all PPE, traffic-control, equipment-isolation, and mobile-equipment safety procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating a wheel loader or comparable heavy equipment
  • Ability to handle and position loads safely and accurately
  • Understanding of equipment-capacity limits, load stability, blind spots, and safe travel practices
  • Ability to conduct and document complete pre-operation inspections
  • Strong situational awareness and sound judgment around people and mobile equipment
  • Ability to communicate clearly by radio and follow instructions
  • Dependable attendance and commitment to safe equipment operation
  • Ability to meet LeMoyen’s operator-training and authorization requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Wheel-loader experience in a sawmill, log yard, forestry, construction, aggregate, or heavy-manufacturing operation
  • Experience loading trucks or feeding production equipment
  • Experience handling logs, lumber, mats, chips, or other bulk wood materials
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and operator-level preventive-maintenance experience

Physical and Work Requirements

  • Ability to safely enter, exit, and remain in the operator station for extended periods
  • Ability to inspect equipment and access routine service points
  • Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, dust, noise, and changing ground conditions
  • Ability to wear required PPE and remain alert throughout the shift

To apply, submit a résumé or work history identifying the wheel loaders, attachments, and other heavy equipment you have operated.
