Wheel Technician - Back Shift

About the role:

Big Motoring World is a fast growing car supermarket and we are looking for a motivated and reliable Wheel Technician to join our team at our Preparation Centre in Peterborough.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced technicians in a busy and fast-paced environment where quality and efficiency are key. You will play an important role in ensuring our vehicles are thoroughly inspected, checked and prepared to meet our quality and safety standards, which are checked by the RAC before they reach our customers. You will be responsible for removing and refitting wheels from vehicles, you will also prep the wheels ready for painting. You will be supported by an experienced team with opportunities to develop your skills and progress your career.

This is a non-customer facing role, allowing you to focus on vehicle inspections, preparation and delivering high standards of workmanship behind the scenes.

Shift Pattern: Monday - Thursday 15:00 – 01:00 & Friday 15:00 – 19:00, no weekend work required

Key Responsibilities:

• Remove and refit vehicle wheels safely and efficiently.
• Prepare wheels to company standards, ready for painting.
• Inspect wheels for damage or defects and report any issues requiring further attention.
• Ensure wheel bolts are tightened to the manufacturer’s specified torque settings when refitting.
• Check and adjust tyre pressures to the manufacturer’s recommended specifications.
• Ensure all work is completed to the required quality and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
• Keep tools, equipment and work areas clean, tidy and in good working order.
• Follow all company procedures and health and safety regulations

Person Specification:

• Prior experience of working to output targets
• Prior experience working as a Wheel Technician or within a vehicle preparation environment is desirable
• Hold a Full UK Driving Licence - Any job offer that requires driving company vehicles is subject to a DVLA check, and applicants with six or more penalty points or a previous disqualification may not meet our insurance requirements and therefore may not be eligible for employment.
