About The Golden Scoop

The Golden Scoop is a nonprofit organization creating meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through ice cream, coffee, and community partnerships, we create an inclusive workplace where every employee has the opportunity to learn, contribute, and succeed.

We are looking for a Wholesale Operations Manager who is organized, hands-on, and passionate about building efficient systems while creating meaningful opportunities for our Super Scoopers.

Position Summary

The Wholesale Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of The Golden Scoop’s wholesale program, including order fulfillment, logistics, inventory, delivery, and process improvement.

This is an operations-focused role rather than a traditional sales position. The primary goal is to make sure wholesale orders move smoothly from production through fulfillment and delivery while maintaining accuracy, organization, and strong communication with our partners.

A key part of this role is intentionally incorporating our Super Scoopers into wholesale operations. The Wholesale Operations Manager will help break processes into structured, teachable tasks and provide the support needed for employees of varying abilities to participate, develop skills, and succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Wholesale Operations & Fulfillment

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the wholesale program.
  • Coordinate orders from receipt through production, packing, fulfillment, and delivery.
  • Maintain organized systems for orders, deadlines, inventory, supplies, and customer needs.
  • Work closely with production to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist with packing, loading, unloading, deliveries, and other hands-on operational needs.
  • Maintain organized inventory and storage systems for wholesale products and supplies.
  • Ensure product quality and consistency throughout the fulfillment and delivery process.

Process Improvement & Organization

  • Develop and maintain clear procedures for ordering, fulfillment, inventory, storage, and delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve efficiency, and reduce errors.
  • Build systems that allow the wholesale program to operate consistently as volume grows.
  • Monitor workflows and proactively solve operational challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate important information across departments.
  • Work with leadership to evaluate capacity, staffing, and operational needs.

Inclusion & Super Scooper Development

  • Create meaningful opportunities for Super Scoopers to participate in wholesale operations.
  • Break processes into structured, teachable tasks that can be adapted to different abilities and skill levels.
  • Provide hands-on training, coaching, and support.
  • Encourage independence while providing the appropriate level of guidance and supervision.
  • Partner with program staff to identify new opportunities for skill development and meaningful employment.
  • Help create an environment where inclusion and operational efficiency work together.

Wholesale Partner Support

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for existing wholesale partners.
  • Provide timely and professional communication regarding orders, deliveries, product availability, and other needs.
  • Build strong relationships that support customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Gather partner feedback and help identify opportunities to improve products, service, and processes.
  • Identify opportunities within existing partnerships when appropriate.

Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with leadership, production, retail, programs, and other departments.
  • Clearly communicate priorities, deadlines, and operational needs.
  • Step in where needed to ensure orders are completed successfully.
  • Model The Golden Scoop’s values and contribute to a positive, inclusive workplace.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys making things run better and is comfortable moving between planning and hands-on work. One moment you may be organizing an order schedule or improving a process, and the next you may be helping pack or load an order.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple orders, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an eye for operational efficiency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience in operations, logistics, inventory management, fulfillment, wholesale, food service, or a related field.
  • The ability to learn and effectively use technology and operational systems.
  • A willingness to be hands-on and assist wherever needed.
  • A genuine commitment to inclusive employment and working alongside individuals with diverse abilities.

Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This is an active, hands-on position that regularly involves moving throughout the workplace, handling inventory, and assisting with wholesale orders. Responsibilities may include:

  • Remaining active for more than 50% of the workday.
  • Loading and unloading products and supplies.
  • Moving and organizing inventory.
  • Using equipment related to production, fulfillment, and retail operations.
  • Performing repetitive movements involving the hands, arms, and wrists.
  • Working primarily indoors with occasional outdoor work or events in varying weather conditions.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

Why This Role Matters

Wholesale at The Golden Scoop is about more than moving products from one place to another. It is another way we bring our mission to life.

The Wholesale Operations Manager helps us build an operation that is organized, efficient, scalable, and inclusive while creating meaningful opportunities for our Super Scoopers to learn new skills, contribute to the team, and succeed in the workplace.

If you enjoy creating systems, solving problems, working alongside a team, and helping people succeed, we would love to hear from you.
