What they need

About Redland

We grow, harvest, pack and market citrus, pome fruit, table grapes, stone fruit and kiwifruit from our farms across QLD, NSW, VIC and WA. Our vision is to be the producer of the world’s most desired fruit – that means we’re passionate about having the right people in the right roles.

About the Role

Redland is seeking an experienced and visible Work Health & Safety Advisor to support our Redland Apples assets. Working closely with managers, supervisors, workers and contractors, you’ll provide practical safety advice, identify and manage risks, and help embed safe, pragmatic ways of working.

Reporting to the National Safety Manager, you’ll work autonomously across multiple sites, building strong relationships and promoting a positive safety culture. You’ll also contribute to broader organisational WHS initiatives, reporting and continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive a proactive safety culture across Redland Apples, building ownership and accountability for WHS at every level.
  • Be a visible, hands-on safety presence across multiple Goulburn Valley sites, working alongside teams to identify risks and improve safe work practices.
  • Coach and empower farm managers and supervisors to own safety, lead conversations and embed safe behaviours within their teams.
  • Provide practical WHS advice across employees, labour-hire workers and contractors, helping teams manage risks effectively in the field.
  • Lead site inspections, safety observations, audits and risk assessments, identifying hazards and driving timely action.
  • Deliver engaging toolbox talks, safety briefings, inductions and workforce engagement activities that make safety relevant and practical.
  • Support incident and near-miss investigations, focusing on learning, corrective action and preventing recurrence.
  • Strengthen contractor safety through onboarding, SWMS reviews, field monitoring and clear expectations.
  • Use Safe Ag and other safety systems to maintain accurate records, track actions and provide clear reporting on risks, trends and performance.
  • Contribute to broader organisational WHS initiatives and continuous improvement, helping build consistent safety standards across the Redland Apples portfolio.

About You

  • Qualification in WHS (Certificate IV or Diploma)
  • Significant relevant proven experience in WHS preferably within agriculture, however experience in construction, industrial, manufacturing, mining or other high-risk industry will be considered
  • Experience working across multiple sites is desirable
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and safety management systems
  • Experience with Safe Ag Systems or other digitak safety systems is desirable

Skills & Attributes

  • Ability to influence and build a positive safety culture
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • High attention to detail with a systems-focused mindset
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
  • Willingness to travel across multiple sites
