Role summary

Stemit is building out its wind energy bench in support of an active proposal for an ADB-financed, utility-scale wind power project in Sri Lanka — the Kondachchi Wind Power Project, a circa 150MW development in the Mannar region, integrated with battery energy storage. We are looking for a Wind Energy Technical Expert to cover the wind-specific technical gap areas of the mandate: resource assessment, turbine technology and OEM liaison, and grid/transmission integration for wind assets. This is a combined position covering the wind-specific scope of the assignment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead or review wind resource assessment work, including wind measurement campaigns, met mast/LiDAR data analysis, and energy yield estimation for the project site
• Liaise with turbine OEMs on technology selection, technical specifications, warranty and performance expectations, and suitability of turbine models for the Mannar wind regime
• Advise on grid and transmission integration for wind assets, including interconnection studies, grid code compliance, and coordination with battery storage integration
• Support technical due diligence, feasibility studies, and bankability review inputs for the wind component of the project
• Contribute technical inputs to ADB documentation, technical advisory reports, and client-facing deliverables
• Liaise with local counterparts, contractors, and regulatory bodies on wind-specific technical matters

Required qualifications

Advanced degree (Master's or higher) in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy engineering, or a closely related field. A minimum of 8 years of international experience on utility-scale wind power projects, spanning resource assessment, turbine technology, and grid integration. Prior experience on multilateral development bank-financed projects (ADB, World Bank, or similar) is a strong plus.
