Responsibilities

• Assist customers with selecting wines, beers and liquors, providing detailed product information and recommendations to enhance their shopping experience
• Conduct product demos to showcase new or featured beverages, highlighting flavor profiles and pairing suggestions
• Maintain well-stocked shelves by organizing merchandise, rotating stock, and ensuring proper product placement in accordance with merchandising standards
• Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately for retail sales transactions, including cash handling and cash drawer management
• Upsell complementary products such as glassware, accessories, or specialty items to increase sales opportunities
• Ensure adherence to all legal age restrictions by verifying customer identification during purchases
• Provide exceptional customer service through friendly communication, phone etiquette, and prompt assistance in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age
• Prior retail experience in grocery stores or specialty beverage shops is preferred; familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus
• Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills in a retail setting is advantageous
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
• Strong communication skills combined with excellent phone etiquette for engaging customer interactions
• Knowledge of POS systems, retail math, cash register operations, and cash handling procedures
• Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory management
• Experience with merchandising, stocking, product demos, and upselling techniques to boost sales performance
• A passion for wine and beer along with retail store product knowledge is essential for success in this role

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4.0 – 32.0 per week
