Your culinary background and knowledge of food and beverage service will help create a welcoming atmosphere that celebrates fine wines and hospitality. This paid position is perfect for individuals eager to develop their expertise in wine sales, restaurant service, and hospitality operations while contributing to a vibrant team environment. On top of an hourly wage, you will receive tips and commissions.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting wines by providing detailed descriptions, pairing suggestions, and wine knowledge to enhance their experience
• Maintain an organized and attractive wine display, ensuring all bottles are properly stored and labeled according to safety standards
• Upsell wine options and related products through engaging conversations and personalized recommendations to boost sales
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS efficiently for transactions, including cash handling and processing payments accurately
• Support menu planning efforts by collaborating with culinary teams to align wine offerings with food menus and special events
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards during wine handling, serving, and storage processes
• Contribute to team leadership by assisting in training new staff on wine service protocols, POS operation, and customer engagement techniques

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, ideally with fine dining or banquet experience
• Strong knowledge of wines, including wine service techniques and proper serving etiquette
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to sell wine confidently while maintaining professionalism
• Background in culinary arts or food industry experience is highly desirable, but not necessary
• Ability to handle food safety practices, food handling, meal preparation, and catering operations when needed
• Team-oriented mindset with leadership skills to support a collaborative work environment

This position starts at $9 an hour, along with daily tips, and weekly AND monthly commission opportunities. Opportunity for advancement is available.
