Wine Bar Server

The Griswold Inn has been welcoming guests since 1776. Today, our restaurant operation encompasses our Historic Dining Rooms, a lively Tap Room, our Wine Bar & Bistro, and seasonal outdoor dining - more than 227 seats united by one commitment to warm, thoughtful hospitality.

We’re looking for a dependable, energetic Wine Bar Server to help deliver orders promptly and accurately from the kitchen to guests. The food runner supports servers and kitchen staff, keeps service flowing smoothly, and helps maintain a welcoming dining environment.

We provide the necessary training, flexible evening hours and year-round employment. The candidate must have a passion for wine and food and have a minimum of two years of service experience. We serve a multi-course, Tapas-style menu with forty wines by the glass offered.

**This is tipped position with tipped wages starting at $6.38/hr**

• Prior experience with wine service preferred
• Guest service-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and a team player mindset.
• Professional/high standard of custom service of food, beverage, cocktails, wine and beer.
• Knowledge of basic menu food and beverage service procedures.
• Knowledge of POS system - preferrably Toast - and cash handling.
• Prepares the tables, laying out napkins and utensils, making sure the condiments are refilled, performing all other side work.
• Staying updated on current menus and practice suggestive selling.
• Maintaining the proper dining experience, delivering items with use of trays, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling beverages.
• Properly open and pour wine tableside.
• Issuing guest checks and receipts, accepting payments, returning change.
• Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
• Greet all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting.
• Adhere to uniform and service standards consistently, maintaining a tidy appearance of service station and oneself.
• Communicate products and services available at the Inn.
• Ability to be on your feet and alert for extended periods of time, and lift up to 30 lbs. as needed.

Pay: From $16.94 per hour
